敬爱的老师们、亲爱的同学们：

大家早上好！

我是初二（12）班的朱亦文。今天我很高兴能在这里和大家分享我和澳大利亚朋友一起度过的美好时光。

其实当第一次得知我们将有澳大利亚学生来学校时，我就非常想要邀请，但又有些担心，生怕自己的口语不过关，怕自己有不好的行为习惯损害了我们学校的形象，我很犹豫，但在赵老师和爸爸妈妈的鼓励下，我最终下定决心要尝试一下，或许有意想不到的收获。

第一封E-MAIL在我的反复酝酿中诞生，我绞尽脑汁几乎用尽了我所有的英语知识，真是“书到用时方恨少”。随着ENTER键的敲响，我就开始等待SHAWNA的回音。十月一日那天晚上我终于收到了SHAWNA的回信，我兴奋、激动，自己迈出的第一步终于成功了。然后第二封，第三封。。。我们渐渐熟悉，了解，彼此期待着见面的那一刻。

终于到了10月21日，我像迎接老朋友一样接来了SHAWNA，在简短的欢迎会后就领着她回家了。在接下来的一周时间里我们一起生活、一起学习、一起玩耍。在交流中我知道了澳大利亚是个美丽的国家，那儿有袋鼠、考拉、鳄鱼，还有美丽的海滩。那儿的学生有充足的时间来做自己喜欢的事情。同时我也尽可能多的向她介绍我们常熟的风土人情。在不知不觉中我的口语水平有了提高，SHAWNA也能运用简单的中文。

感谢学校给了我这样的机会去结识聪明、美丽、幽默、自立的SHAWNA。我佩服她的勇气，离开自己的家乡来到陌生的国度，所有这些都是我要向她学习的。

快乐的时光总是过得那么的短暂，无论今后我们分处在南半球还是北半球，春天还是秋天，我们的友谊不会断，因为我们是朋友。

My dear teachers and friends:

Good morning

I am Zhu Yiwen from Class 12, Grade 8. I’m very honored to have the chance to share my happy time spent with my Australian friend.

In fact, when I got the news that the Australian students will come to our school, I felt so excited and I wanted to invite someone to be with me, but I was also worried about my oral English. I was afraid that my bad habits and behaviors will influence our school’s reputation, so I hesitated, however, with the encouragement of my teacher Ms. Zhao and my dear parents; I decided to have a try. Maybe there will be unexpected surprises.

The first e-mail came out after my deep consideration, I have racked my brains for this email and I firmly believed that when you use knowledge, you will find you haven’t got enough. As the ENTER key was clicked, I began to wait for replies from SHAWNA. Finally, on the night of October 1^st, I received an e-mail from her; I was so excited that I made a success for my first step. Then with the exchange of emails, we are gradually familiar with each other and we are both looking forward to the moment of meeting.

Finally when the day came, I greeted Shawna like an old friend, I took her home after the brief welcome. We lived, studied and played together in the next week. During communication I knew Australia is a beautiful country, there are kangaroos, koalas, crocodiles, and beautiful beaches. Students there have enough time to do the things they like. At the same time I introduced the local cultures and customs of Changshu to her. My spoken English has been improved a lot, SHAWNA can also speak some simple Chinese.

I really appreciated to have the chance to meet such a clever, beautiful, humorous and independent girl Shawna. I admire her courage that leaving her home town for a foreign country; all of these deserve me to learn.

Happy time always flies so fast, whether we stay in the southern hemisphere or the northern hemisphere, whether we were in spring or autumn, our friendship will last forever, because we are good friends.
